Discover more with the Bing iPhone App

We’re taking our first UK foray into the App Store today with an all-in-one Bing search app that lets iPhone users make faster, more informed and localised decisions while on the go. It
holds social search at its heart, allowing you to share search results with friends and family via text, e-mail and Facebook at a touch.

There’s all the usual features that desktop Bing users know and love (such as the daily homepage image and insightful information ‘Hotspots’) as well as a whole host of new features like a clever Voice search feature that allows you to search without typing via voice recognition technology. The App also includes Bing Vision, an innovative feature that uses the iPhone’s built-in camera to scan QR codes or use OCR text recognition to search Bing to look for whatever you like, including the name of your favourite book or game!

To download the Bing iPhone app visit the Apple App Store, and don’t forget to let us know what you think. You can also see a hands on slideshow of the app over at MSN.

If you’re a Windows Phone user you’ll already be enjoying the benefits of an integrated Bing experience, because every Windows Phone comes with a dedicated Bing search button that intelligently recognises context from what you are doing when you press the search button.
Windows Phone users are also able to take advantage of other great features with the Mango update such as Local Scout (provides hyper-local search results and recommends nearby restaurants, shopping and activities in an easy- to-use guide) and Quick Cards (when searching for a product, movie, event or place see a quick summary of relevant information, including related apps). You can read more about Windows Phone and Mango in our previous blog here.
