Make your list and check it twice because the biggest shopping weekend of the year is just a few short days away. But before you head to the store or log on to your favorite shopping sites, head to Microsoft Edge and Bing, to get several new tools to help you find the perfect gifts and save money.
Get access to coupons with Microsoft Edge and Cortana
Microsoft Edge notifies you of the best coupons Cortana can find for a retailer without you ever needing to leave the retailer’s site. Microsoft Edge supports more than 100 retailers including Macy’s, Target, and Toys “R” Us through our partnership with Shopular, a leading coupon provider. When you visit one of the supported retailer sites, just click on the Cortana icon in the address bar to see available coupons.
Search Bing Images to compare prices
While all this shopping can be fun, it can also be a stressor on our wallet. According to the National Retail Federation, consumers plan to spend an average of $805 on holiday merchandise this year. Bing is bringing you some relief by adding more data to product images, including prices for the same item sold at different stores, reviews and ratings and store availability. We’re rolling this out to desktop and mobile devices over the next few days, at which time all you need to do is search for an item on Bing Images, look for the shopping cart icon and scroll down to the “Places to Buy Beta.” Bing also shows you visually similar products to the one you’re looking at in case your original search is a little out of your desired price range.
Receive recommendations based on your favorited images
Looking for a little more inspiration? For those of you who favorite items in images, we’re testing a new feature called image stream, which shares recommended images based on the things you have favorited. If you’re not familiar with the favorite feature, it’s the ability to search and save the images that catch your eye. We’ve extended this feature to mobile so you can use it while on the go. Just tap the heart icon to add an image to your favorites. To get started, click on the Images link underneath the Bing search box to see our updated images landing page.
Checkout this video to see how you can favorite items, get recommendations from your image stream and compare prices using Bing Images.
Once you’ve had a chance to try out these new features, let us know what you think by using the feedback button in product, or share an idea and vote for others at Bing Listens.
Happy shopping!
