I can’t read this article, but some of my cohort here in Redmond can. The folks at ZOL (CNET) have rated Live Search Maps China higher than both Google Maps China and Baidu Maps. ZOL specified that Live Search Maps China was better because of the “superior user interface, integration with local search result, personalization and bus transit.”

In December 2007 we announced the launch of our Live Search Maps localization of world locations in Chinese including street level data for China. Today, we’ve added Live Search China results to include local links through to our Live Local Search using our localized Chinese maps. We have over 7 million local listings in 114 cities in China which we’ve indexed into and have directly accessible through Live Search.

We’ve launched our Live Search Maps site in Chinese! Not only that but we have street data for China! The first public release supports most basic map and local search features across China with details for 114 cities, plus a Public Transit feature for 11 cities, but without Driving Directions and Public Collections; we will enable Public Collections in the QFE, and add Driving Directions in a future release.
