Searching for the pot o’ gold near you

You know what they say: everyone’s Irish on March 17th, and our search data shows it! At the beginning of March the number of people that start searching for green beer increases by 940%. So if you’re one of those people, we thought we’d make your hunt for anything green a little easier by compiling some fun St. Patrick’s Day collections for you. Whether it’s enjoying a Guinness and corn beef and cabbage lunch at a local bar or restaurant, partaking in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade that happens in cities around the globe, or steeping yourself in the history of the holiday, we can help you keep track of the activities for the day.

We’ve created a few collections of favorite destinations for the big day in Live Search Maps. (Click each link for all the details on the parade routes and other venues of significance…such as, well…Irish pubs.) Boston and New York were two of the first U.S. cities to hold celebrations for St Patrick’s Day, and those traditions live on in full force today with big parades and green beer o’plenty! Chicago is another city that gets into the festivities in a big way: with its own infamous green river. The Live Search team is looking forward to celebrating the Irish in us all here in Seattle as well, with a parade and a St. Patrick’s Day Dash.

If you can’t make it to one of these cities for the festivities but still want to go Irish at home, you can find Irish recipes o’plenty at delish.

We hope these collections and recipes give you some great ideas as you plan your St. Paddy’s Day celebration. Wishing you the luck of the Irish!
