It’s hard to believe but it’s been a year since Bing launched in Australia. So, we thought it would be a great time for us to look back at the past 12 months and review what’s been going on with Bing in Australia.
Bing has taken audiences all over the world with its daily homepage images. We have visited dozens of countries and featured 48 images representing Australian icons, events and places – that’s nearly one a week! Bing has been to 34 cities in Australia, featured 9 native animals, 7 Aussie sporting events, 6 community initiatives and 5 native flora over the past year! Out of all the Australian states, Victoria was featured the most often whilst the most popular Australian image was of Perth for the annual Arts festival and the most popular sporting event the Moto GP in Victoria.
We have more than 3 million people coming to Bing in Australia every month and since we launched, we have released features like Maps, Hotspots, Image Archive and Instant Answers. We have come a long way, but we also have lots of exciting things to do before we come out of beta. We look forward to the next 12 months as we continue to develop Bing and welcome more and more Australians who come to us to find what they are looking for.
We have also used Bing’s first year anniversary to review the topics that have sparked the country’s interest over the past year. On a side note, amongst the least searched for terms are possums and neck tattoos! Enjoy…
