Introducing the new Bing in Windows 11

Today, Microsoft announced a significant update to Windows 11, featuring an array of features that harness the power of AI and improve the way people get things done on their PC. The Bing team is thrilled to share that as a part of this update, we’re bringing the new Bing directly to the Windows taskbar, unlocking more ways to interact with your PC across search, answers, chat, and creation.

It's been just three weeks since we announced the new Bing, and in that time, we’ve been inspired by how our preview testers have incorporated these new AI tools into their everyday life. Adding these capabilities into Windows is the next big step in our journey, with the potential to deliver Bing AI-powered experiences to the over half a billion people who use the search box every month.

Now, you can access the world’s information and generate content from the Windows taskbar, providing you with an AI copilot directly on your desktop. If you are currently in the preview, these features will be available to you by downloading the latest Windows update rolling out today. Find this update in the Windows Update settings menu*.

For those still on the waitlist, we are working hard to get as many of you in as quickly and as responsibly as possible. Thank you for your patience – we think it will be worth the wait. We continue to accept new users onto the waitlist, and encourage everyone to sign up so that we can make these new experiences even better.

We know there’s still plenty to accomplish, so stay tuned for more updates as we continue on this journey.

*Available to users with eligible devices running Windows 11, version 22H2. Device reboot required to enable new features. New feature availability may vary by market.
