Events to Watch

Each day, using a combination of past results, social media data, athlete trends, and a few secret ingredients, we forecast the winners of events, and use this to create a list of exciting things to see in our Events to Watch section. The events that we think will be most exciting are easily identified with the   sign. Scrolling over the lightning bolt will give you an explanation of why we think you should watch this event. You can even filter the schedule to show only the most exciting competitions!

On Saturday, the Women’s Singles final is expected to see Angelique Kerber from Germany go up against Petra Kvitova from Czech Republic. Serena’s shocking exit leaves United States’ chance of winning a tennis medal in the hands of Madison Keys. We expect Germany to clinch the gold with Czech Republic and United States winning silver and bronze respectively.

Sunday is expected to be an action-packed day, with Simone Biles predicted to win gold at the Women’s Vault finals in the morning.

Later in the day, Usain Bolt of Jamaica faces arch rival Justin Gatlin of the USA in the men’s 100m athletics event. Bolt suffered a torn hamstring during the Jamaican trials forcing him to withdraw and fight for his spot on his country’s team during the London Anniversary Games in late July. Does this open a window of opportunity for Gatlin to beat Bolt? We predict the Jamaicans to take the top two spots with Usain Bolt finishing with a gold and Yohan Blake with a silver. Justin Gatlin from the USA is expected to close out the podium with a Bronze medal. Tune in to watch, as all these events promise a nail biting finish!

Until the end of the Summer Games, we will be updating our Events to Watch, Medals Predictions, and Daily Predicts to make sure there you can catch all the Rio Games excitement. Check back on Bing to find out.
