Making a move? Bing can help with choosing houses, schools and doctors

Moving to a new city or new neighborhood is as exciting as it is stressful. In addition to grappling with the big decision of finding a new home, other considerations can include school choices, availability of services such as healthcare and what a new neighborhood has to offer beyond a place to live.

To help answer some of these questions, the Bing team has released new and improved experiences for researching homes, schools and doctors in the U.S.  It brings together information curated from a variety of sources and services, so you can feel confident that you’re getting the big decisions right.

A new home

People planning a move often have a good idea of what they’re interested in – be it a specific home address in a neighborhood they like, the best schools nearby or a local doctor their friend or insurance plan recommended.  For example, over two-thirds of doctor-related searches on Bing are for a specific doctor, and about half of real estate-related searches are for a specific address.

Now, when you search for a house address on Bing on your mobile device, we provide an at-a-glance overview of the key information you need, from companies you know and love.  You’ll see its location and pictures, price and house details, as well as the schools associated with that address and similar homes nearby.  If you want to dive further, just click on any one of the site icons, including Zillow, Trulia and others.

A new school

If you have kids, we don’t have to tell you that the quality and accessibility of schools near your new home can be just as important as the home itself.  Found the perfect home on Bing? Click on one of the local schools in the answer to see key information. You’ll see the GreatSchools rating and community score at the top, and details including contact information, student-to-faculty ratios, enrollment, as well as rankings and academic indicators for high schools.

A new doctor

Finding the right doctor is another key part of your move.  To make an informed call, you’ll want to investigate potential healthcare options yourself.  Searching for a doctor will show clinic locations and contact information, as well as key information such as years of experience, average reviews and educational background. Trust is a top priority, so we have partnered with top companies in the health-professionals industry including LexisNexis, Doximity, Vitals and others to make sure we’re bringing you the right information. We’ve even confirmed thousands of phone numbers by actually calling them.

Think you’ve found one you like?  Click and get all the info you need, including everything from Yelp reviews to links to book on Opentable.
