Breaking Changes:
Removal of Transit as a travelMode and Histogram Data from the Distance Matrix API in the Bing Maps Routes service on 09/30/2024
The following features in the Distance Matrix API will be removed on September 30, 2024:
- Transit as a mode of transportation in the travelMode parameter
- Histogram of travel times over a period of time with a set interval that takes into consideration the predicted traffic at those times. As part of this deprecation we will also retire the paramaters endTime and resolution.
Retirement of Parameters from the Truck Routing API on 09/30/2024
Support for the following parameters in the Truck Routing API will be removed on September 30, 2024:
- Distance Before First Turn
- Vehicle Max Gradient
- Vehicle Min Turn Radius
- Vehicle Hazardous Permits
Removal of Transit as a travelMode from the Isochrone API in the Bing Maps Routing service on 09/30/2024
Support for transit as a travelMode in the Isochrone API will be removed on September 30, 2024.
Removal of truck speed limits and vehicle attributes from the Snap to Roads API in the Bing Maps Routes service on 09/30/2024
Support for truck speed limits and vehicle attributes in the Snap Points to Roads API will be removed on September 30, 2024.
Product Retirement:
The Calculate Routes from Major Roads API in the Bing Maps Routes service will be retired on 09/30/2024
The Calculate Routes from Major Roads API allows you to calculate routes to a location from major roads in four directions (West, North, East and South). This API will be retired on September 30, 2024.
The Local Insights API in the Bing Maps Routes service will be retired on 09/30/2024
The Local Insights API which allows you to get a list of local entities within the specified maximum driving time or distance traveled from a specified point will be retired on September 30, 2024.
Bing Maps for Enterprise is deprecated and will be retired
- Enterprise account customers can continue to use Bing Maps for Enterprise services until June 30, 2028.
- Free (Basic) account customers can continue to use Bing Maps for Enterprise services until June 30, 2025.
Required action: To avoid service disruptions, all implementations using Bing Maps for Enterprise REST APIs and SDKs will need to be updated to use Azure Maps by the retirement date.
