Sit with Me: Bing sits in the red chair to support women in technology

Last week the Online Services Division at Microsoft participated in the Sit with Me Campaign. Sit with Me was created by members of the National Center for Women & Information Technology, a non-profit coalition that works to increase diversity in computing and IT. Sit with Me encourages others to learn and acknowledge the important role women play in creating future technology by taking a small but symbolic action: sit in a red chair and share your story. A variety of employees and leaders from Bing, MSN, the Global Foundation Services group and Microsoft Advertising sat in the red chair this past week to show their support for women pursuing and succeeding in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) related jobs.

For the month of April, the BingJobs Facebook community page will showcase our Sit with Me campaign. We will kick off our campaign by highlighting the Online Services Division’s leadership team sitting in the red chair! Today, we are featuring Gurdeep Singh Pall. Gurdeep is the Corporate Vice President for the Information Platform & Experience team at Microsoft Corp., and is part of the Online Services Division’s senior leadership team. He is responsible for vision, product strategy and R&D for the Bing services and platform that includes mobile, mapping, and speech.
