Bing Maps soars to new heights!

Bing Australia has taken online maps to a new realm with a whole catalogue of new and improved features.  Today’s homepage showcasing a satellite image of our beautiful country includes links introducing some of these awesome new features. You’ll find Bing maps is now faster, has an improved interface, features walking maps and enables you to share your maps with a single click.

Also, let’s not forget Bing’s unique Birdseye view which produces a high-resolution image of select locations and landmarks all around Australia and the world, and the Business Listings feature which is the easiest way to find your nearest restaurant, plumber or bakery for example, using Yellow Pages business  listings.

Here is a full run-down of the new features:

·         Higher resolution of satellite maps imagery allowing you to see things in even greater detail

·         Birdseye imagery in more Australian and world locations and landmarks

·         You can now save information directly onto Bing maps – whether it’s your favourite coffee shop, places you’ve visited, or places you want to go, it’s easy to add a collection to Bing maps. As always, you can also view other’s public collections, a handy feature if you are travelling somewhere new, or for finding out more about he places you already know

·         An improved user interface with faster load times, meaning the maps are easier to navigate and the tools you need are always close to hand

·          Bing maps has always provided access to high-quality driving directions, but with this release we are also adding walking directions, so you can find the quickest way whilst staying healthy

·         Want to drive past something in particular? Or stop off at a store on your travels? The new drag and drop feature lets you easily change your route by dragging the route to where you want to go

·         Want to add a Bing map to your website or blog? Easy done. You can choose the size, the style and can even include a drag-able map with our easy embed feature

·         Bing’s printing function makes it easy to print a map to take with you. Just hit the button to receive a perfectly formatted, printer-friendly version of the map you are viewing
