Last week saw the launch of into by Windows Phone, an innovative new social rewards programme for UK Windows Phone owners, their friends and family, and anyone who wants to share and get rewarded.
Launched alongside the availability of Windows Phone 7.5 (codename Mango) – which includes some pretty cool Bing features – into by Windows Phone adopts the mantra of Windows Phone, putting people at the centre of their phone experience, by helping them enjoy the things they love.
The Bing team went along to support the event that was compered by creative consultant and ex blur bassist, Alex James, the event featured live music performances, a Bing themed bar as well as a giant Windows Phone screen highlighting Bing Local Scout a major feature of Windows Phone 7.5.
Throughout the event guests made the most of their Windows Phones’ by using Bing Music to search for tunes by Sophie Ellis Bextor and Bebe Black (who performed on the night) and Bing search to learn more about the drinks that actor Nick Moran was mixing and the cheese fondue recipes that Alex James had prepare. Plus guests used Bing translate to find out more about some of Alex James’ favourite places and things which were on display in the Bing bar.
Alex James is a man of many tastes and interests. From his Britpop days, through to astrophysics, and his current enthusiasm for cheese-making and farming, he’s widely respected for opening new doors and following his passions. His unique energy brings Windows Phone fans closer to the things they’re passionate about. Whatever they’re into, from music, film, food, fashion, and travel, into by Windows Phone will reward them with handpicked experiences.
How does it work?
The idea is simple by doing all the regular, daily things on their Windows Phone, such as interacting and sharing with their friends, users can unlock an array of exciting offers and experiences.
In the opening weeks following the launch of into by Windows Phone, fans and others who want to get involved will be able to view exclusive content from Alex James and other guests and unlock special offers from the likes of Coggles, the designer fashion specialist. In addition, they’ll also have the opportunity to win an arctic adventure for two people to Finland!
There are two ways to get into it: consumers can ‘like’ the into app on the Windows Phone UK Facebook page to get going. Coming soon, consumers will also be able to download the into Windows Phone app from Marketplace onto a Windows Phone.
To unlock the exclusive content, fans will earn points through participating in various sharing activities across both versions of the app.
