Cake anyone?

No, it’s not gothic Barbie but a cake designed by Jacob Kimmie for the hip cupcake company Molly Bakes. Based in East London, the fashionista turned cup cake maker behind Molly Bakes believes everyday should be a cupcake day. While I tend to agree, it is Molly Bakes’ imaginative designs and cutting-edge cupcakes that are creating a cult following. She also uses free range eggs, fair trade sugar and pure British butters so you know that only the finest ingredients are used in these little pieces of glamour. The trendsetters answer to Hummingbird bakery, her hot cake pops are perfect if you’re after a little treat. So if you’re around East London, make sure you visit her stall at the Upmarket on Brick Lane or you can make an order on her website for special occasions or if you just want to treat your friends, family, office – who needs a reason to get your cupcake fix?

Alternatively, you could try your hand at making your own, or throw caution to the wind and invite all your friends round for afternoon tea. All you need is a recipe book, ingredients and plenty of sparkly topping. Why not push the boat out and buy a girly gourmet cupcake maker? You could even serve them up on this cute cupcake set or an adorable cake stand. Tea, cake and a good excuse for a chinwag with the girls – sounds like the perfect Sunday afternoon. So why not give baking a go and let all your friends eat homemade scrummy cupcakes?

Thanks,

Becs
