$250,000 to Help Public Schools – 50 Winners in our Bing Rewards Sweepstakes

It’s that time of year.

To celebrate back to school, today we’re launching our biggest Bing Rewards sweepstakes yet! 50 winners will get the opportunity to help public school students and teachers with a $5,000 gift card to spend on DonorsChoose.org. DonorsChoose.org lets public school teachers from across the country request resources that will engage their students: paintbrushes, microscopes, xylophones – even soccer balls!  The lucky sweepstakes winners will have the opportunity to choose from thousands of projects and with $5,000 will make many teachers’ wishes come true. To find out more about the projects in your local area visit www.donorschoose.org.

We’ll be selecting 10 winners per week for 5 weeks (that’s $250,000!). Bing Rewards members can enter as often as they’d like using the credits they’ve earned by searching with Bing. Enter early and your entry gives you multiple chances to win – names not drawn in one week are automatically entered into the following week’s drawing.

We’re also making it easier to help your local public schools with $5 DonorsChoose.org gift cards. Usually priced at 500 Bing Rewards credits, through November 1, 2012, we’re taking off more than 80% and offering the $5 DonorsChoose.org gift cards for only 99 credits.

Bing and DonorsChoose.org have partnered on many programs to support education over the years, including our Earth Day Photo Contest and the “Our School Needs” contest. We’re pleased to be working together again.

To enter to win one of the fifty $5,000 DonorsChoose.org gift cards, visit www.bing.com/rewards/redeem/win. Not a Bing Rewards member? Visit http://www.bingrewards.com and please follow the instructions to create a Bing Rewards account. You can find the sweepstakes official rules here. Good luck!

I am a Donorschoose teacher and would be thrilled to be the recipient of a giftcard.  I've entered and have my fingers crossed.  My students could definitely benefit from such generosity.  In addition, we will have the luxury to help other classrooms.  Thank you Bing for recognizing the needs within the schools, and partnering with a great non-profit, Donorschoose.  My classroom is being transformed because of donors like you! THANK YOU :)

I like the way Donors Choose operates. First, they give you detailed information about the projects in need. They let you know when a project you funded is due to expire and still hasn't met its goal yet, so you can choose to donate more or share the link to rally your friends to help. If the project is unable to raise the total amount required and therefore is not completed, your money gets refunded to you in the form of account credits which you can use to fund another project. It's also nice that they keep you updated on the progress of the project. A most admirable organization, and so too are the teachers heading the projects.
