2012 Official Rules
No Purchase or Obligation Necessary to Enter or Claim a Prize.
Sweepstakes Period: The “Bing It On” Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 9:00 AM Pacific Time (“PT”) on September 6, 2012, and ends at 11:59:59 PM PT on October 18, 2012 (“Sweepstakes Period”). For purposes of this Sweepstakes, a “day” is defined as a 24-hour period, beginning at 12:00:00 AM PT and ending at 11:59:59 PM PT. The Sponsor’s computer, or that of its designee, runs the official clock for the Sweepstakes and will solely determine the time by which an entry is received.
Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the United States and Puerto Rico who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees and consultants of Microsoft Corporation, (“Sponsor”), and any of their respective related subsidiaries and affiliated companies, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotion agencies including Marden-Kane, Inc (“Administrator”) and each of their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses regardless where they live) and individuals living in the same households of the above, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Each entrant by participating in the Sweepstakes agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the Sponsor’s decisions. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. How To Enter: To enter the Sweepstakes you’ll first need to become a registered user of www.Twitter.com (“Twitter”) or log into your Twitter account and become a follower of @BING. If you do not have an account, go to www.twitter.com to create one. Twitter accounts are free. By submitting your information and creating an account, you agree to the Twitter terms of use and privacy notice. If you do not agree to these terms of use and privacy notice, you cannot create a Twitter account, or participate in this Sweepstakes.
Follow These Instructions:
· Go to www.bingsweeps.com and click on the Twitter icon within the blog post.
· Tweet out the pre-populated tweet about the “Bing It On Challenge” link;
· You can also retweet someone else’s pre-populated “Bing It On Challenge” tweet.
· Only predetermined “Bing It On Challenge” tweets with no change to phrasing are eligible to earn entry into the Sweepstakes.
· You will receive One (1) entry for each tweet or re-tweet. Only one entry per day allowed per person/twitter address. If more than one (1) daily entry is received from an entrant, only the first entry will be accepted.
Entries made with multiple e-mail addresses, under multiple identities or through the use of any agent or other device or artifice to enter multiple times will be deemed invalid. Multiple Sweepstakes entrants are not permitted to share the same email or twitter address. Mechanically reproduced, illegible or incomplete entries will not be eligible. All entries must be submitted in the name of an individual person and the prize can only be awarded to the person whose name is listed on the entry. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, human error or technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any computer equipment or software, or any combination thereof, or for lost, stolen, late or misdirected entries. All entries become the property of the Sponsor, and will not be acknowledged or returned. By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to the use by Sponsor and its designees of their names and photographs/likenesses for any advertising and promotional purposes, worldwide, and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised (including and without limitation, the Internet) without additional compensation except where prohibited by law. Upon request, Winners agree to consent to such in writing.
Random Drawing: A random drawing to select one (1) prize winner will be conducted on or about October 26, 2012 from among all eligible entries received by the end date by the Administrator, who is an independent judging organization and whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.
Winner Notification and Verification: The Sponsor will contact each potential Prize Winner via private message to the potential Prize Winner’s Twitter Account on or about October 29, 2012. The potential Prize Winner will be required to respond to the direction in the message within 24 hours with full contact information. Potential winner will be contacted via email on or about November 1, 2012 and required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and Declaration of Compliance; where legal, a Publicity Release (collectively the “Affidavit”), as well as, an IRS-1099 form, both of which must be returned within five (5) days of prize notification date or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate potential winner. In the event that any potential Prize Winner cannot be contacted, or any requested information is not received within the requested time period, the potential Prize Winner will be disqualified and an alternate Prize Winner may be selected time permitting and at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Failure to timely return any documents requested, return of prize notification as undeliverable, or noncompliance with these Official Rules will result in such potential Winner being disqualified. Sponsor shall have no further obligation to that potential Winner, and an alternate Winner will be selected. The prize will be fulfilled based on availability within six weeks of winner verification.
Prizes/Odds: One (1) Grand Prize – A Big Box of Awesome which contains a selection of Microsoft Products including a tablet running Windows RT, an Xbox 360 250 GB console with Kinect, a copy of Office Home and Business 2010, one LifeCam Studio Webcam, an Xbox LIVE 12-month Gold Membership, a Windows Phone from winner’s choice of cell provider (prize consists of phone only), a Wireless N Router and three Xbox 360 game titles: Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports: Season 2, and Forza Motorsport 4. Total Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of prize is $3,800. No cash equivalents, transfers or substitution of prize permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor, who reserve the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion. Individual components of the prize may not be transferred or sold unless Sponsor, in its sole discretion, gives prior written permission. Winners are responsible for the payment of all taxes on the prize. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received by the end date. In no event will more prizes be awarded than those listed in these Official Rules. Decisions of the judges will be final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
General Conditions: Sweepstakes entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules. The laws of the United States govern this sweepstakes. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. This includes, but is not limited to, disclosing the winner’s first name, last initial, and hometown in any requested winners list. If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes.
