This Sunday (8/28), the music establishment will descend upon LA for the MTV Music Video Awards. 

Whether you’re tuning in to watch Adele take home a Moon Man, Beyonce dazzle on stage or Pitbull spit rhymes, this year’s VMAs are set to impress.  Keep your eye on the “Best New Artist” category showcasing the best emerging talent- artists who have shot from relative obscurity to stardom in the course of a year. 

We sat down with one of the category nominees to explore the decisions that led her to the show. Kreayshawn describes how sharing her art and music on the Web as an outlet for self-expression let to her break-out song “Gucci Gucci” and a contract with Columbia Records.
