The partnership with TomTom enhances our mapping portfolio, helping us deliver the best mapping experience across multiple platforms. As a result, Bing Maps is switching to TomTom for base map data for regions outside of China, Japan, and South Korea. In March we began gradually rolling out the new TomTom base map data to Bing.com users and Microsoft first party products. Today, we are starting the migration period for the Bing Maps Platform.

Since our blog post in July highlighting new Bird’s Eye imagery, we’ve released more of our high resolution oblique 45-degree angle aerial Bird’s Eye imagery and just want to make sure you’re aware of this continued imagery expansion. The recent release of new Bird’s Eye over the last few months represents approximately 50,000 square kilometers of new Bird’s Eye imagery spanning 70 cities in the United States.
